MiLife Bug: Scrolling issues

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

A bug has been pointed out to me where the scrollbar arrows don’t function properly, and scrolling with a trackpad produces erratic results. I’m working on getting this fixed as quickly as I can. Apologies to anyone who had trouble with this.

Once this issue is corrected I’ll have an updated version of MiLife available for download.

Exploding iPods? Awesome!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

MacNN reports on Apple’s response to the iPod Nanos that were spontaneously bursting into flames over in land of the rising sun. Well, they didn’t explode, exactly. Rather, the batteries overheated to the point where the face plastic melted, the backs bent out of shape, or the entire unit caught fire in a flurry of musical sparks and DRM-free smoke. Those people must have some… hot songs on their iPods…

(That ranked about a 9.0 on my Lame-Pun-o-Meter.)

Anyhow, I don’t know what all the fuss is about. iPod + Explosions = Win. I want one!

Apple’s new Get A Mac ads

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Apple will be running 3 new television ‘Get A Mac’ commercials. You can watch them on Apple’s website.

As usual, they’re a little silly, and the same kind of themes as their old ‘I’m a Mac, I’m a PC’ series. But still, fun to watch.

10.5.5 on the way…

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

As reported on MacNN.com: http://www.macnn.com/articles/08/08/19/mac.os.x.1055.build.9f17/

Lots of bug fixes and other good stuff.

World’s Rarest Rhino

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Check out this trap video camera capture of the world’s rarest rhino. At about 0:54 the mother spots the camera and uh… “disables it.” Click the image below the video to donate to the World Wildlife Fund today to help support endangered species!

8 Gold Medals!

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Somehow it seemed destined to happen. Michael Phelps now stands alone in Olympic history. This American now has won more gold medals in a single Olympics than any other athlete in history.
