TankBuddy, the easy and fun aquarium maintenance utility for Mac, is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This new version of TankBuddy has been completely redesigned and rewritten from the ground-up specifically for the iPhone and iPod.
TankBuddy makes it easy to maintain your aquariums, giving you unlimited tanks, each of which has its own pH, ammonia, water change, and feeding logs. Tanks can be updated with just a few taps, and even have their own notepads you can use to keep a shopping or To Do list. As soon as it’s launched, TankBuddy will show you instantly how many of your tanks are past-due for a water change or a feeding.
Find out more at the official TankBuddy website or download TankBuddy from the Apple App Store:

TankBuddy, the easy-to-use aquarium maintenance utility for Mac, has been rewritten and redesigned from the ground up in a new (and much more awesome) mobile version. That’s right fishkeepers, TankBuddy is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch!
You can visit the official TankBuddy App website or check back here for the official launch, which is expected within the next two weeks after the App Store review and submission process has been completed. TankBuddy for the Mac will remain free, although further development will be focused now on the iPhone version, which is planned for a $2.99 pricetag (less than the price of a latte – for a complete aquarium maintenance utility on your phone!).
Stay tuned!

UIColor is a little limited in comparison to its Mac OS X counterpart NSColor. Ars Technica wrote up a handy set of additions which provide add-on methods for doing things like grabbing the -red, -green, and -blue component values from the underlying CGColorRef.
One thing the Ars code seemed to be missing was the ability to pull hue, saturation, and brightness values from a UIColor. So if you need to get those, here is an easy add-on category which piggybacks on Ars’ code.

PS: I hope everyone has a fun New Years Eve. Be safe.

BravoTunes has been updated to 1.1.2.
BravoTunes is a free iTunes add-on utility which places scrolling (or stationary) track information in your menubar, making it easy to see at a glance which track is playing and what’s coming up next. Its system-wide menu allows you to easily control iTunes without leaving the current app you’re working with: skip tracks, adjust repeat/shuffle settings, apply ratings, etc.
As if that wasn’t enough, BravoTunes is packed to the brim with customization options. Adjust the display’s font style, color, size, scrolling speed, framerate, iTunes syncing speed, Dock icon visibility, track album/artist details, iTunes auto-launching… this app has everything but the kitchen sink.
The best part? BravoTunes is free. Visit the official BravoTunes webpage to download it for your Mac. Requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later… and iTunes, of course.
Coming Soon: Blackout 3.4.

The blog’s been fairly quiet the past few weeks as there is a mountain of new updates in the works, for several of BravoBug’s apps. There’s also a new silly freeware app being developed which will likely be released soon (within a few days).
In the meantime I wanted to plug an awesome iPhone game. The creative guys over at Howling Moon Software released Twilight Golf a few months ago, and it is by far one of the coolest iPhone games I’ve yet to see. It features some really unique gameplay (thanks to a very realistic physics engine, Chipmunks 2D), wonderful graphics (check out the dynamic lighting!), and plenty of puzzling levels.
So if you haven’t seen it yet, stop by the app store and take a gander (or check out the lite version).
Oh, and be sure to check back soon for some new updates and apps from BravoBug, they’re on the way!
